NEW YORK, NY, United States (UPI) -- The USA Network will devote more than 35 hours a week to 'Law & Order: SVU' and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' starting this fall.
About 80 percent of the cable network`s primetime schedule will be devoted to the two 'Law &Order ' spin-offs starting Sept. 11., the New York Post reported Tuesday.
'The `Law & Order` franchise has historically had some legs,' said Brad Adgate of Horizon Media. 'It`s a self-contained drama, and it repeats well.'
However, one prominent industry insider called the scheduling 'not the most imaginative move,' the Post said.
The network has plenty of material to choose from. There are 669 of 'Law & Order' and its spinoffs. USA has the rights to 161 while TNT has the rights to 371 'L&O' reruns. |
